David Hermes

Chairman

David Hermes is the esteemed founder and CEO of the Link Group of Companies, which comprises of Link Crude Resources, Link Futures, and Link Data Services. With over 40 years of experience in the energy sector, David has acquired a vast amount of expertise and knowledge in global crude markets and its market participants. He possesses integral knowledge of price discovery techniques and effective commodity trading and hedging strategies, earning the trust and confidence of major crude oil buyers and sellers worldwide.

Under his leadership, the Link Group of Companies has become a successful group that offers a diverse range of services to the energy and commodity markets. David’s critical knowledge of the various types of crude oil produced worldwide, visionary entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent leadership and management skills have played a vital role in the growth and success of his companies.

The Link Group of Companies was established to provide voice brokering services for crude oil produced and traded at various pipeline locations across the US and Canada. In addition, its commodity broking affiliate executes and clears related financial products on commodity exchanges in the US and Europe.

David’s unwavering commitment to his business partners, friends, and employees is a testament to his character. He is a devoted family man and relies on his self-driven attitude and entrepreneurial spirit to achieve success. David is motivated by creating businesses and platforms that enable others to grow, thrive, and build character and wealth through hard work and dedication.

Beth Hermes

Manager

Beth Hermes joined Link Crude at its inception, playing a pivotal role in implementing and overseeing the company’s operations. After six months, Beth transitioned into a commodities broker role. She retired from brokering in 2018 and has since taken on the broker desk manager role.

Garth Roe

Manager

Garth Roe joined Link in October of 2014 and currently serves as a commodities broker and president of Link Crude Resources and Link Futures. Before joining Link, he spent ten years serving in the United States Marine Corps. Garth graduated with an associates and bachelors degree from American Military University and did some post graduate study at American University.  Garth is passionate about his job and the people he works with at Link.

Josh Hermes

Manager

Joshua Hermes has been a licensed Series 3 Broker with Link Crude Resources, LLC and Link Futures, LLC, specializing in domestic crude and futures since 2005. He has been an integral part of the tremendous growth of Link over this time as one of the company’s original brokers and currently serves as the most experienced broker on the desk. He prides himself on establishing strong relationships with his clients, many of whom have become lifelong friends. A native of Louisiana, Josh attended Louisiana State University at Shreveport and Louisiana Tech University. After moving to Texas, he gained experience in the real estate, mutual fund, and home construction industries before joining Link. In addition, he is involved in fundraising for veterans, education, and health-related foundations. An avid angler, Josh resides in Fulshear, Texas, with his wife and two children.

John Schmidt

Manager

Mr. Schmidt graduated from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (Kings Point) in June 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. In April 2005, Mr. Schmidt was appointed President of McQuilling Partners. In January 2007, was named Chief Executive Officer with overall responsibility of McQuilling Partners, Inc. and all of the subsidiary and affiliated companies. In 2020 he was named Vice-Chairman of the board. Mr. Schmidt also serves on the boards of Ocean Solutions, Link Crude Resources/Link Futures, and Envision Marine Services. He currently dedicates most of his time to business development and managing the various McQuilling companies.

Roger Marco

Manager

Roger Marco graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business with a Bachelor of Science in 1993. In June 1991, he joined McQuilling as a ship operator, specializing in small tankers and dry cargo, while also serving as the head of the IT department. Two years after joining McQuilling, he moved into the tanker brokerage department, focusing on dirty product exports from South America. In 2003 Mr. Marco moved to Houston to open McQuilling Houston, where he served as a director of McQuilling Partners and the General Manager of Houston. In 2018, after McQuilling acquired a 25 percent stake in Link, he became a manager of Link and currently serves as its corporate secretary. Recently surpassing his 30th anniversary at McQuilling, Mr. Marco continues as a tanker broke and is presently McQuilling Partners ‘ President.
